Explore AI Label Assistant: A Step-by-Step Guide on How It Works

Install add-on

1. Go to Google Workspace Marketplace and click install to install the add-on on your Gmail.

2. Click "Allow" to authorize the add-on.

3. If your organization is blocking the access to installation, you can ask your IT team to unblock the add-on.

Create your Labels

1. On your Gmail, from the bottom left of the screen, by clicking the " + " button beside "Labels" you can create custom labels for your emails.

2. Create some labels you for your mailbox that you would like to organize it with.

Find the tool on Gmail

1. On your Gmail, open the cards menu from the bottom right of the screen, by clicking the " < " button

2. From the icons on the right, click on the icon of AI Mail Assistant

3. You need to open an email to be able to use the add-on

Activate Auto Labeling

Now that you have access to the tool, you can start automated labeling by switching the button to "Activate Auto-labeling" the add-on.

Automate Email Labeling

Once you activated the auto-labeling feature, every hour, your emails will be labeled automatically according to your already defined labels.

Automate Email Archiving

You can also automatically archive emails according to your labels and your input.
Just click on any of the labels defined on the "Configure" area. 

Then activate the switch to enable automatic archiving. 

Then each time the tool starts labeling your emails, the labels that is auto-archiving enabled will be archived automatically, giving you a clean mailbox.

Precise Labeling

If the label title is not enough and you are looking for specifics inside an email to be able to label them and/or archive them. 

You can write a more precise description on what you need to be labeled. This will help the AI assess if the label is correctly done and will function according to your input.
